Each year the St. James Plaindealer sponsors “Hot Dog?Days.” The event allows businesses and organizations to sponsor and raise funds for community charities.
This year, Hot Dog Days took place on an absolutely perfect weather wise day, May 15, 2010. A total of nine hot dog stands were available for those attending to sample one or more of their favorite “dogs” with all the ‘fixins.’
Here are the results of funds raised for community charities and comments by some of those individuals at each stand:
• Country Collage/St. James Opera House Restoration Project - $500.00 raised and “Our major goal for this year is to remove the paint from the bricks(at the Opera House) and replace the wood panel above the awning of the Country Collage
• Fleet and Farm/St. James Gymnastic Booster Club  - $182.00 raised and “Equipment and leotards. Great fundraiser, so happy to live in a community where businesses support their local organization! Would like same weather next year!” Read more in the May 20 Plaindealer.
