Dear Editor,
Each year, as the month of May comes to an end, we visit our local cemeteries to observe Memorial Day. We go there to honor the people who have gone before us, especially the soldiers who fought and died for our country so that we can have the freedom that we all enjoy.
Now remember, the cemetery isn’t only a place for people who die, but a place for the living as well. Many of us go there because it is our way to show our love to someone who has passed away. We honor our loved ones with flowers. We kneel and thank them for all the things they have done for us. Maybe we did not have time to thank that person when they were alive. So the cemetery is a quiet place for a short prayer, a time of reflection or confession, a time to thank God.
The Board of Mt. Hope Cemetery Association would like to thank those who have donated or contributed to the upkeep of our beautiful cemetery. This helps us pay for some of the increasing costs which relate to the maintenance of a well kept cemetery.
If you can help with a donation or gift to Mt. Hope Cemetery, the Board would really appreciate your generosity. Donations can be mailed or given to Len Dalen. Thank you.
