Four Saints combine for shutout vs. MCW

The Saints baseball team finished out their regular season in fine fashion earlier this week, beating Martin County West 7-0 in St. James Monday. This means Jon Wilson’s team goes into the playoffs having won two in a row and four of five. The Saints will take on mighty New Ulm at Johnson Park Saturday at 11:00.
Four Saints combined to strike out eight MCW batters in seven scoreless on Monday with Matt Dahl picking up the win as the starter. Dahl, a senior, struck out four in four innings. Bryant Schmitz struck out two in the fifth, Brandon Menssen gave up just one hit in the sixth, and Joe Hager wrapped things up in the seventh with a pair of strikeouts.
The win improved the Saints’ record to 7-11 (2-8 SCC).
