The Saints lost on the road to GHEC Monday night by a score of 67 to 48.
Coach Steve Walker said St. James played one of its worst first halfs of the year and trailed at the half 31-12.
Walker described the Saints as having problems in all phases of the games from not making shots, or getting rebounds, or getting defensive stops.
The Saints opened the second half on a 19-4 run. They eventually cut the lead to under ten points at 45-36.
The Saints could get no closer, and GHEC pulled away as the second half wore on to make the final margin 19 points and claimed the 67-48 victory.
Zach Brandts had 21 points for the Saints and Walker Froehling added 10.
The Saints end the regular season with a 2-22 record.
The Minnesota State Basketball Tournament begins on Saturday. The Saints travel to Worthington to play the number one seeded Trojans.
Worthington is tall and talented and enter the Tournament with a 17-6 record. They are led by 6’8” Mitch Weg who has signed to play at Southwest Minnesota State.
