Clark Lunz, 71, of St. James died on Friday, March 9, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James with Pastor Judy Stillwell officiating.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in St. James.
Clark William Lunz was born on December 19, 1940 to William and Nelda (Maus) Lunz on the family farm in St. James, MN. He attended country school and St. James public schools.
On January 17, 1959 he married LaVonne Fay Oskerson at the St. James Catholic Church. He helped Carl Arnold farm for a few years before working 49 years with Roadway Construction. He was a trophy winning tractor-pull contestant who enjoyed helping kids build derby cars, playing pool, doing puzzles and dancing to the Country Yanks. A former Eagles club president, he enjoyed attending the club fish fries and singing Karaoke.
Survivors include his sons, Doyle and Roger of St. James, MN; daughters, Kim Gonzales of St. James, MN and Karen (Tammy Hall) Lunz of Trimont, MN; daughter-in-law, Cathy (Rick) Thulien of Trimont, MN; sisters, Ruth (John) Knaack of Willington, CO, Fay (Dick) Rathman of Nisswa, MN and Angela (Juhl) Hartberg of Heron Lake, MN; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Clark was preceded in death by his wife, LaVonne; son, Jeff; his parents; and grandchildren, Amanda Persinger and Joshua Adams.
