Herman Bolte, age 76, of Truman died Friday, May 18, 2012 at the Truman Senior Living. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Kramer Family Funeral Home in Trimont and one hour prior to the services at the Church on Thursday. A Celebration of Life Services for Herman J. Bolte, 76, of Odin, Minnesota will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church in Odin, Minnesota with Pastor Carla Reierson and Pastor Alan Bolte officiating. Herman John Bolte was born on May 24, 1935 to Emil and Annie (Sands) Bolte in Iowa. He was baptized and later confirmed in Iowa. Herman attended school up to the eighth grade in Anthon, Iowa and later was employed in a foundry in Sioux City, Iowa. On February 27, 1955 he was united in marriage to Evelyn Hall in Anthon, Iowa. After their marriage, Herman was employed in road construction so they lived in Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa, Kansas until returning to Minnesota. They farmed in the Butterfield area and later in the Brainerd area. Herman and Evelyn worked together on the farm and did custom combining in the Butterfield and Sherburn area. He was a former member of Kansas Lake Lutheran Church and now Zion Lutheran Church in Odin. Herman greatly enjoyed his family and spending time with them. Going to his children and grandchildren sporting events kept him busy. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, camping in their camper made from a school bus and playing miniature golf. He also could be found working with wood, helping his son, Ronnie work on cars and siding houses for his family.
Survivors include his children, Rev. Alan (Cindy) Bolte, of Alexandria, Scott Bolte (Joyce) of rural Butterfield, Sandy Youngblom (Dean) of Wells and Ron Bolte (Dee Dee) of Jackson; 11 grandchildren, Christopher Bolte, Melissa Hubbard, Shaun and Stacey Bolte, Ryan and Marissa Bolte, Justin and Kristen Youngblom, Eric and Elizabeth Youngblom, Nicole Youngblom, Jason, Brandi and Betsy Bolte, Chip and Rebecca Rankin; 13 great-grandchildren, Dylan Bolte, Alexis Hubbard, Ashley Hubbard, Abigail Hubbard, Gage Bolte, Austin Bolte, Tyler Bolte, Kevin Bolte, Destiney Bolte, Kaita Bolte, Shayla Bolte, BayLee Pietrowski, Audreina Bolte; sisters-in-law, Illa Jurries of Sherburn, Marilyn (Ray) Bergquist, of Buffalo, Norma (Hall) (John) Paulson, of Edina, Minnesota, Leota (Harold) Quiring, of Mountain Lake; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evelyn on February 18, 2006; two infant grandsons, Michael Bolte and Jay Youngblom; brother, Gene Bolte; an infant sister; and other relatives.
