Lyle Greiner, 82, of Truman died on Friday, June 15, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church in rural Truman with Reverend Matthew Rusert officiating. Burial followed in Antrim Cemetery in rural Truman. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012 from 4 until 7 p.m. at Zaharia Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Truman and continued for one hour prior to the services at the church.
Lyle Albert Greiner was born on March 23, 1930 to Walter and Hattie (Becker) Greiner on the family farm near Truman, Minnesota. He graduated from Truman High School on May 31, 1949. On October 24, 1953 he married Laura L.G. Miller at Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisville. After their marriage they continued to live on the family farm until the present. Lyle enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He always told people that he was born in the northwest corner of the mile and when is laid to rest he would be in the southwest corner of the same section.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Greiner of Truman; children, Michele (Rick) Siem of Platteville, Col., Colette (Douglas) Landsteiner of Fairmont, Monte (Svetlana) Greiner of Minneapolis, Jayme Greiner (and friend Tammy Herbert) of Wellington, Col., Jodelle Greiner of Fairmont, and Celeste Cummins of Storm Lake, Iowa; sisters, Lillian Kuhlman, Irene (Clifford) Engerud and Iona (Hartwin) Kietzer; sisters-in-law, Darlene Miller and Avis (Raymond) Roiger; brother-in-law, Melvin Miller; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents.
