  •     Last Thursday night, the Watonwan County Library hosted an ‘All About Owls’ presentation given by the Raptor Center of the University of Minnesota.

  •     Last Thursday night, the Watonwan County Library hosted an ‘All About Owls’ presentation given by the Raptor Center of the University of Minnesota.
        Kelly Scott from the Raptor Center gave about an hour long presentation to approximately seventy interested citizens, with many of them children. The kids were curious and only a few seemed to be slightly scared.
        According to Scott, the Raptor Center has many different kinds of birds of prey. They come to the Raptor Center because they’ve been injured and they stay at the Raptor Center when their injuries are so great that they become unable  to survive in the wild. Aimed at the children in the audience, Scott had a general discussion of what differentiates birds from other animals and then what makes raptors different from other birds...
