  • Searles 7, A's 3
The A's got behind early on Wednesday and this time couldn't generate a comeback as they lost at home 7-3.  A's starter Chris Menssen ran into trouble in the second and third innings giving up five runs and two runs respectively to give the Grizzlies a 7-1 lead.
Six of the seven runs he gave up were earned.  He struck out six, walked four, hit a batter and gave up eight hits.
The A's offense could only plate three despite 14 hits.  Chris Menssen was three for five.
    Stark 19, A's 9
It looked like the A's would get back on track in Stark on Friday as they took 4-0 lead in the first inning.  The A's pushed the lead to 5-1 with a run in the second but things turned ugly after that.  The A's used four pitchers on the night and they combined to walk 15 batters and hit three more.
Joe Krause and Nate Ewert had two hits each to lead the A's offense.
    A's 5, Leavenworth 0
Friday night's game in Stark may have been the worst performance of the year for the A's, but Sunday's win at Leavenworth may have been the best.
Once again the A's jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning but this time never looked back as A's starter David Krause cruised to a complete game shutout.
Krause struck out ten, walked three and gave up only five hits.      Brandon Menssen, Austin Pinke and Nate Ewert picked up two hits each.
