The toddlers were jumping the gun during the Grand Opening of Toddler Town on Sunday. They were already busy playing on the fantastic new playground equipment located near Armstrong School and St. James Catholic Church.
A large gathering of St. James community citizens including School Board members and the Superintendent, business leaders and government leaders gathered at 3 pm Sunday to open the new playground.
A recurring theme of the Sunday afternoon event was that, ‘It takes a community to build a playground.’
That theme was reflected in how Toddler Town came into existence. The concept and building of Toddler Town became a large community effort that included donations from many businesses and individuals. It also included the volunteer work of many people.
Toddler Town is a playground that’s intended to be for children up to five. It has many ‘neat’ rides where the children will be able to play the days away.
Toddler Town ‘officially’ opened at the beginning of summer - great timing! It is a playground that will enrich the lives of St. James’ young children for years to come.
