Members of the St. James Women of Today recently met at the Hickory Inn to celebrate the successes of the past year.
During the year, the Minnesota Women of Today (MNWT) raised over $563 million in donations and volunteer hours for various causes.
Some of these causes included the American Heart Association, Can Do Canines, Second Harvest Heartland,?Camp Friendship and many other local causes.
St. James was one of the 30 chapters in the state that had growth, adding six members in the last trimester of the year (Jan.-Apr.).
In the third trimester, the St. James chapter was listed as 8th in the MNWT contest called the Success System.
Presidential pins were given to St. James members Sarah Fast and Jaine Firstbrook, while Sue Renz received a “Fired-Up District Program Manager” charm. Bronze “key” awards went to Brenda Nommensen and Renz for their year-end efforts.
At their banquet, Fast was voted “Outstanding Member of the Year” while Melissa Schiller was named “Outstanding New Member.” In addition Sue Renz was given the honors of “Outstanding Board Member.” The Christmas Sharing Tree was named “Outstanding Project of the Year.”
The St. James chapter members are gathering to commemorate “Founders Day” on Sunday night, July 1, by holding a campfire in the backyard of Donna Barrett’s home, at 1027 7th St. S.
