Ronald was born Oct. 8, 1949, to Frank and Sylvia (Christianson) Hoscheid in St. James. A Class of ‘67 St. James High School graduate, Ron married Nancy (Stoesz) on Aug. 1, 1970, at St. James Catholic Church. Last week they celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary.  They were blessed with two daughters, Stephanie, whom they adopted in 1976, and Stacie who was born in 1978. Over the years, Ronald farmed, drove semi-tractor trailers and did concessions at county and state fairs for many years. He had a deep passion for his faith and was honored to be a 4th degree Knights of Columbus member. He was an active member at his church, including helping at funeral luncheons.  Ron’s family was everything to him, especially his seven grandchildren. He enjoyed showing them his love and support by going to their extracurricular and sporting events. He also enjoyed playing cards, throwing dice, working crossword puzzles, fishing and hunting.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughters, Steph Hoscheid and Stacie (Matt) Sykes, all of St. James; grandchildren, Dillan and Damian Hutchins and Lucas Hoscheid, and Logan, Chelsea, Noah and  Payton Sykes, all of St. James; brother, Gary (Judy) Hoscheid of Pierre, S.D.; aunt, Clara Schenk of Butterfield; several nieces; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Norman Hoscheid; and several aunts; and uncles.
