The St. James Gun Club held its annual Larry Freeman/Stan Bauer Memorial Trophy Shoot on Sunday, July 29th. Beautiful weather greeted shooters who came from all over southern Minnesota to participate in the event. Shooters shot 50 targets each of 16 yard, Handicap and Doubles. The shoot was held in honor of Larry Freeman and Stan Bauer.
Both Stan and Larry were members of the St. James Gun Club for over 20 years. Stan, from Sleepy Eye, died of cancer in July 2005 and Larry, from Truman, died in a tragic car accident in April 2007. The Bauer family donated a memorial plaque with the High Over All winners name engraved on it each year. The Freeman family donated a memorial plaque with the High 100 winners name engraved on it each year. Tim Weihe, from Truman was the High Over All winner this year with 144 out of 150 targets thrown.
Ron Noren was the High 100 winner with 96 out of 100 targets.
Handicap Champion was Paul Christianson from Mt. Lake with 48 out of 50, the 16 Yd. Champion was Peter Falk from Madison Lake with 49 of 50 targets and the Doubles Champion was Dave Blanshan from Windom with 47 of 50.
