The girls of St. James have ‘leagues of their own’ when it comes to playing a sport with a bat and ball - and that’s softball. The young ladies of St. James also get the chance to play a sport they love on summer afternoons out at the Watonwan County Fairground.
The leagues starting with girls age ten and under allow the young athletes to learn the game and give each St. James girl the chance to get better at it.
The young athletes also learn the importance of teamwork.
No doubt the skills they learned this summer can help them in the future.
St. James graduated a lot of good softball players this spring and the Saints will need to find many good replacement softball players over the next several years.
Keep practicing and keep playing girls. Softball is a lot of fun and the Saints will need some good players by the time your in high school.
