Tyson Hill is now a full-time staff writer for the St. James Plaindealer.
Hill graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a degree in mass communications/English and grew up in Glenwood, Minn.
He has been active in soccer and is looking forward to getting to know the St. James community.
“Everyone has been really friendly so far,” said Hill. “That has made the move a lot easier. The more people I meet, the more I like the area.”
While at MSUM, Hill worked to develop student writers and helped in the creation of an online news outlet for aspiring journalists.
Prior to his journalism degree, Hill worked as a groundskeeper, gas station attendant, psychiatric technician, engineer’s assistant, painter and most recently a soccer coach.
“I’ve had my share of odd jobs, which I think is indicative of my curious and enthusiastic nature,” said Hill.
These qualities, along with an eye for detail make Hill a great fit as the new St. James Plaindealer staff writer.
