Laguna, the men's soccer team from St. James, will play two games for the championship of the Liga Rasa Soccer League.
The two game final will be played against the Jalapenos from Mankato with the first game at 2:00 pm on Sunday, Oct. 14 in the field behind Northside Elementary School.
The second game will be in Mankato at 1:00 pm on Oct. 21 at The Land of Memories Park.
The Liga Rasa League has been around since 1996 and is comprised of 12 teams from southern Minnesota. This is the first time St. James' Laguna will be playing for the championship.
Laguna defeated St. Peter in two games by scores of 2-0 and 5-0 to advance to the championship round.
The Liga Rasa League plays from late April to mid October each year.
This year Laguna has been paced by Mario Ramirez who led the team in goals with 31. Ramirez's total made him the scoring champion of the Liga Rasa League.
