  • Thanks to the wonderful volunteers from St. James, Wellspring Faith In Action was able to rake the yards of 13 senior citizens in St. James on a beautiful fall day, Saturday, October 20.
This event would not be possible without the help of youth and adults.
The City of St. James made the job easier for volunteers by pitching in with their services. Volunteers didn't need to bag up and haul the leaves to the compost site since Joe McCabe and his crew did the job with the City's leaf vacuum.
Without their help, WFA would have needed many more volunteers and would not have been able to rake as many yards.
WFA would like to thank the many groups of volunteers that helped on Saturday. The St. Paul's Church Women provided bars for the sack lunches. Armour Eckrich, Super Fair, Culligan and McDonald's of St. James provided most of the food and beverages for the event. The groups of volunteers that helped were as follows: Catholic Youth, St. Paul's Pioneer's /Youth in Action, Youth Council, Nelson Wide Awake 4-H, St. James Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts, Steve Chapin's Crew, Hosanna Free Lutheran Church Men, and SELF Group.
Wellspring had a total of 63 volunteers participate to make this day a success!
