  • St. James High School students will be presenting the annual fall musical Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 8-10 beginning at 7:30 pm in the High School Theater.
The slapstick musical comedy, Bugsy Malone follows the rivalry between two half-witted street gangs and the washed up, well intentioned, one-time boxer (Adam Bruton) who steps in to take control of Fat Sam's (Sam Carlson) gang and give Dandy Dan (Elliut Fonseca) and his boys what they've got coming.
Romantic interests for the gang leaders include Blousey Brown (Cassidy Chapek), Tallulah (Kalley Guerdet) and Louella (Liana Tonsager). In this film noir spoof, the message is one of good, clean fun: the characters are wonderful 1920's cartoon cutouts; and the weapons of choice are 'splurge' whip cream guns, silly string and custard pies.
Directed by Sandy Sunde and accompanied by Morgan Pitcher, Simon Beck, Liz Reckow, and Connor Engel, the cast of forty-five includes Derrick Shupe, Erik Heitz, Mike Hedlund, Justin Heinrich, Adrian Torres, John Surber, Humberto Cedillo, Bethany Carlson, Rachel Kircher, Elida Ascencio, Jovanna Boeve, Katie Kluver, Emily Hurley, Erin Hurley, Richard Soto, Pedro Guillen, Nate Rodriguiz, Zach Brandts, Kody Curry, Steffi Rosendahl, Liz Rios, Karina Hernandez, Carlos Marquez, Taylor Engel, Karina Ascensio, Danielle Gonzales, Lil Krause, Julia Boeve, Chenoa DePoppe, Tayna Farfan, Josh Stordalen, Colin Hoppe, Jay Meyer, Ashley Lahti, Emily Canabar, Miah Rehm, Bailey Haseman, Katy Hedlund, and Isaac Carreon. Technical assistance is provided by Johan Maartinez, Killian Wehde, Joanna Carreon, and Isaac Carreon.
