They start em early in St. James when it comes to developing wrestlers. Fall/winter wrestling practice begins next week for grades K-6.
For boys thinking about it, the first ten practices are free. Boys who attend seven out of the first nine practices will also get a free St. James Cyclone Wrestling T-shirt.
SJA Head Wrestling Coach Gene Hildebrandt said practice for boys begins next week and runs until early March.
The first day of practice is Nov. 13. Practices will be held at the high school wrestling room.
Grades K-2 sign-up at 6:15 pm and practice goes from 6:30 to 7:15. grades 3-6 sign-up at 7:15 pm and practice runs from 7:30 to 8:30.
There are three days of practice scheduled in November and seven days of practice scheduled through Dec. 27.
There are another 15 practices scheduled in the first three months of the year. It will cost $15 to continue to learn the great sport of wrestling during that time period. Scholarships are available for students.
St. James will host a K-6 wrestling tournament on Jan. 5 in the high school gym. K-6 wrestlers will also wrestler before the Saints varsity match on Jan. 8.
