Mayo Clinic Health System hospice is hosting the annual “Memory Tree of Lights” service on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 5:30 p.m. in the Downtown St. James City Park. Anyone can purchase a light to place on the tree for $10, and donations in other amounts are graciously accepted. Refreshments will be served immediately following the service at the St. James VFW, located at 4 Seventh St. S.
“The Memory Tree of Lights is a thoughtful way to remember those who have passed away, to support those who are dealing with loss and to empower individuals who work with the dying,” says Jeanne Atkinson, Mayo Clinic Health System bereavement coordinator. “It’s also a great chance to meet and share with others who understand the difficulties you may be facing while dealing with loss.”
Those interested in purchasing lights or making other donations must make their contributions by Nov. 30. For more information or to order lights, please call Mayo Clinic Health System hospice at 507-385-2618 or 1-800-327-3721, ext. 2618 (toll-free).
Annual memorial service helps to remember those lost and provide support to those in mourning.
