  • Adrian Brian Fisch was the founder of “The Red Badge of Courage” and served in the US Army in Vietnam from 1969-1970.
When Adrian Fisch returned from Vietnam, he started a life-long search for his missing friend. Along the way he discovered new information about missing enlisted men. He would share that information without charge to the families of those MIA.
He was active in the search for the men who remained missing in action and stopped only when it could be shown that the men were dead and their remains could be returned to their families.
Adrian Fisch passed away Sept. 13, 1999, after a long and debilitating brain disease.
Adrian Fisch’s wife Janet Fisch received a phone call recently from Art and Dianne Meyenburg.
“They requested I design a plaque in memory of Adrian to be hung outside a room furnished in Adrian’s honor,” said Fisch.
The plaque holds a picture of Adrian Fisch along with the Red Badge of Courage pin and an explanation of Adrian Fisch’s impact during his search for missing soldiers.
This memorial to Adrian Fisch will be posted outside a bedroom in the “Eagles Healing Nest” Residential Treatment Center for returning veterans located in Sauk Centre, Minn.
“Eagles Healing Nest” is the creation of Mothers of veterans and was created for veterans to have a space of their own surrounded by the resources  and support they need to heal after they return from war.
The Sauk Centre building will host 37 veterans. The plaque hanging outside of the room is meant as a reminder that there are others out there experiencing the same struggles and is also meant to be small tribute to a great man.
