Thursday, Nov. 8 at approximately 1 p.m. Lakefield ambulance and fire/rescue teams reported to an accident on Highway 86 just north of Lakefield.
Involved in the accident was St. James resident Joseph Oliver. Another vehicle was driven by Jeffrey Lange of Windom.
The two vehicles collided near milepost 15. Oliver’s freightliner semi tractor went into the ditch and was overturned. Lakefield fire/rescue was able to free Oliver from the overturned vehicle, but Oliver was overcome by injury.
Lange sustained no apparent injury from the accident.
Another accident involving Jay Warner of Madelia, occurred just outside of St. James, Sunday, Nov. 11 at approximately 6:16 p.m.
Also involved in the accident was Rachel Bird of Paulinna, Iowa.
The two vehicles collided while they were traveling west on Highway 60. The incident occurred as the two vehicles merged at the County Road 27 overpass.
The vehicle driven by Bird landed in the eastbound lane while Warner’s vehicle stopped in the north ditch of the westbound lane.
There were no fatalities in the incident, but Bird did sustain a non life threatening injury.
