The Catholic Daughters of the Americas is a group that was formed in 1959. Soon thereafter, the tradition of hosting an annual bazaar began. They held this years bazaar and luncheon at Mariam Hall on Nov. 9 in St. James.
The annual meal for the bazaar is chicken noodle casserole. Those who attended the meal were also treated to apple cake with “carmel glaze to die for,” salad and homemade pickles.
The Catholic Daughters of the Americas prepared for about 300 guests and raffled off a quilt, designed cross, lighted angel and two $25 chamber bucks gift certificates, along with a separate bucket raffle.
Proceeds from the meal, drawing and assorted merchandise sold at the bazaar and luncheon will go toward the different charities and events the Catholic Daughters of the Americas participate in throughout the year.
