The 2012 Spirit of Christmas House Walk will take place Dec. 1 and Dec. 2 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The Spirit of Christmas House Walk has taken place in St. James annually for six years and is a tour of the inside of some pleasantly decorated homes.
This year’s walk includes the homes of Dr. Steve and Julie Jeppson, Darrell and Leora Ask, Michelle Fuller and Mark and Rebecca Semeja. Each home has been decorated for the walk in a unique way.
The Jeppson home features collections of memories throughout the home, including a sled used by Steve and his siblings.
The Ask home is a farm home with the decor of real and miniature John Deere implements and Swedish heirlooms.
Michelle Fuller has her home decorated in the traditional holiday gowns – including multiple Christmas trees and fun antiques.
The final home on the stop, the Semeja house , will have an upside down Christmas tree and Mark’s Santa Claus quilt that he was given in 1953.
Children over 10 years old are welcome on the tour and refreshments will be served at Homestead Apartments. There will also be entertainment Saturday and Sunday, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Homestead Apartments. Dick Jokumsen will play piano and perform vocals at the Saturday event, while Chris Pitcher will play piano on Sunday.
All proceeds of the even will go toward the St. James Opera House restoration project.
