Anytime Fitness will be holding a 12 hour treadmill challenge and a membership sale on Wednesday, Dec. 12.
All of the proceeds collected that day will go toward Grandma’s Attic.
Grandma’s Attic is an organization that raises a lot of money and gifts for donations. The Anytime Fitness donations will be collected to purchase gifts to give to needy kids in the area for the upcoming holiday season.
“I jumped at the idea,” says Beth Henderson, a personal trainer at Anytime Fitness. “It’s a very good way to get members engaged – a win-win for them, helping a good cause and getting in their workout.”
Members of Anytime Fitness can sign up for 15 minute blocks during the 12 hour treadmill challenge. During those 15 minutes, members can utilize whatever form of cardio they wish and donate a dollar a minute for Grandma’s Attic.
“We just want it to be a fun day to raise awareness,” says Henderson. “There are children out there with less and we want to give them an abundant Christmas.”
Anytime Fitness organizations around the county are doing similar activities this holiday season. They are promoting charitable giving and exercise.
The Anytime Fitness in St. James will also be holding a sale during the 12 hour treadmill challenge that will allow anyone to become a member for just $12. From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. the guest door at Anytime Fitness will be open for anyone interested in getting a great deal on a fitness membership and donating to a worthy cause.
There will be beverages and refreshments available throughout the day.
