Help make a child happy this holiday season by donating a present to the Christmas Sharing Tree program, sponsored by The St. James Women of Today.
There is a great need this season for donations. The program has already received 410 requests for help. The generosity of people in the past has made the program a success and there is no reason that can’t happen again this year.
“Donations are less than half of what we normally receive. We are hoping for a great turnout this season from the community. If the tags are picked up by individuals in our community the need for monetary funds are not as great,” says Sarah Fast.
If you can pick up a tag or two and buy those gifts for the Sharing Tree, there will be less monetary strain on the program.
The deadline to return gifts to local businesses is Dec. 15. At that time, all the gifts brought in will be compared to the list of requested gifts to determine what remains and needs to be purchased.
Gifts will be distributed from Brandt Ridge Friday, Dec. 21 from 4 p.m to 7 p.m and Saturday, Dec. 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
