  •     The sophomores at St. James High School held a health fair last week in the school gym.
The students, numbering 100,  in teacher Steve Chapin’s four health sections at the school exhibited 100 different health projects. A total of eight judges assessed the student’s work.
While rolling back and forth on a skateboard, Daniel Camacho explained equilibrium.
Tenth grader Mario Garcia explained how playing music could reduce stress. “Playing music  is a great way to reduce stress,” Mario said.
Mario’s earned a starting spot on the Saints wrestling team, so may his winter be filled with many happy tunes.
Frankie Zucek was explaining metabolism at his display.
Moises Ramirez had an interesting display on stem cells and their importance in scientific research.
Sophomore Ashley Lahti had a display on anxiety. As we know, it is a condition that can plague teenages.
I asked her, “Like the anxiety you might have running in the State Cross County meet for the first time?” “Yes!” Ashley said.

The students were milling around studying each other’s projects. Students from the other grades of St. James High School also came to see the work of  teacher Steve Chapin’s tenth graders.
