Inez Skjervold, age 95, of St. James, died on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at First Lutheran Church in St. James. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in St. James. Inez Engaline Haseman was born on September 19, 1917, in rural Butterfield, to parents August and Emma (Goltz) Haseman. She grew up in the Butterfield area where she attended school. She worked at Tony Downs for a time before going to school to obtain her hairdresser's license. She worked as a hairdresser in St. James for many years. On May 25, 1963, she married Donald Skjervold in Mapleton. The couple made their home in the Twin Cities. While living in the Cities, Inez enjoyed gardening, baking and volunteering at her church. In 2001, they moved to St. James following Don's retirement. She loved visiting with and being involved in her nieces and nephews families. Following Don's death in 2008, Inez moved to Brandt Ridge and later to Pleasant View.
Inez is survived by her sister, Doris (Frank) Sawatzky of St. James; nieces and nephews, Virgil (Jean) Carlson, Duane (Sara) Carlson, Sharon Baier, Murlene (David) Gruis, Greg (Mary) Peterson, Donald (Carrie) Crane, Larry Crane, Kristafer (Stephanie) Skjervold, Nathan (Alida) Skjervold, Peter (Loretta) Skjervold, Karin Skjervold (Brad David), Sara (Mark) Paulson and Kristian (Jeni Loftus) Skjervold III
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents, sisters, Rosetta Carlson, Fern Crane; and a niece, Vivian Carlson.
