In the cold of winter, skating is one way to get some exercise while enjoying the fresh, crisp air of Minnesota.
The rinks were flooded a little later than usual due to the warm December weather, but according to the parks department, once the process began it went relatively smoothly – similar to years past. In the past, the rinks were opened during or before Christmas week.
Ice skating on the St. James rinks is free, but skates aren’t provided. Skating is open to anyone looking for a good time and a cure to cabin fever over the winter season.
Hockey and broomball equipment is available upon request at the city hall.
