Robert Scarlett, president of Medical Equipment Exports, will be visiting with the St. James community next Tuesday, Jan. 15 – meeting at different venues from 9:45 a.m. to 8 p.m.
His lecture will include facts, tips and general knowledge about cyber security and the importance of understanding the interconnectedness of today's digital world. His knowledge comes from his experience in starting companies in the US, Europe and Latin America.
The event is funded in part by the St. James and Madelia Rotary Clubs in collaboration with the Friends of the Library and Community Ed.
The event is free for anyone who would like to attend. His schedule for next Tuesday is:
St. James High School Little Theater, 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
St. James Rotary meeting, 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Madelia High School, 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Supper at Plaza Fiesta in Madelia, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Watonwan County Library meeting room, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The community presentation is advertised for the Watonwan County Library meeting, but residents are welcome to join Scarlett at any of the venues. Members are reminded if they choose to attend a function at the school they are required to check in at the school office first.
Community Ed in St. James works to provide the community speakers with international themes on a regular basis. This topic was selected by students, teachers, the rotary and members of friends of the library as a whole, from ten other 2012 topics.
