Southern Minnesota has been called ground zero of the flu outbreak in Minnesota. St. James also appears to be part of that.
According to Ryan Smith of the Mayo Clinic Health System of St. James, the facility has seen a volume increase in the number of people coming in with flu symptoms.
Those were one third of the cases seeking urgent care this past weekend.
One person has been hospitalized and twelve people have been diagnosed with the flu as of Tuesday afternoon.
The clinic still has flu shots available for people interested in lowering their risk of catching the flu.
