  •     The SJA gymnastics team lost to visiting New Ulm last Friday. The Saints hosted the Eagles at the National Guard Armory and fell by the score of 134.600 to 86.200.
It was the lowest meet score for the Saints this season.
A reason for the low output by SJA, was that Erin Hurley, the Saints top gymnast this year,  was out with an illness.
Another of the varsity gymnasts, Kelli Nessler, withdrew due to an injury sustained in warm ups. The Saints were short handed.
Glenda Hector led the Saints with 22.850 points. Glenda was the only Saints gymnast who participated in all four events.
Jennifer Oviedo was second in scoring for the Saints with 17.675. Jennifer scored the highest of any SJA gymnast in an individual event, with 7.750 on the vault.
New Ulm had the top five finishers in all four events and the all around.
On Tuesday, the Saints traveled to Redwood Valley and had their best meet of the year.
Redwood beat SJA 120.175 to 99.700. Erin Hurley placed second with a score of 31.525. Her scores were - 8.625 on vault (3rd), 7.925 on bars (2nd), 6.950 on beam (3rd) and 8.025  on floor (3rd).
The Saints Glenda Hector was fourth. Her scores were - 26.000 overall (4th), 8.200 on vault, 5.175 on bars, 5.625 on beam and 7.000 on floor.
