Do you hear the bugle calling you? The call is coming from Keeneland, one of the premiere race tracks in the United States.

This family friendly track, located in the midst of horse country in the bluegrass region of Lexington, Kentucky, offers visitors an amazing racing experience.

Keeneland races twice a year in the spring, April, and in the fall, October. When you think Kentucky you probably think bluegrass. Spring is the time when bluegrass and horses come together. Many travelers look forward to the spring opening of the prestigious Keeneland. Check the website for the current dates and times www.keeneland.com/.

The spring meet features plenty of stake races worth over $3 million. Extra events are offered each season that might include book signings or trunk shows featuring special fashions. <>

Each Saturday during racing months visitors can take part in events such as  sunrise trackside. This is breakfast with the works. It begins at 7 a.m. and continues until 8:30 a.m.

Breakfast is served trackside in the Equestrian Dining Room. You can enjoy a trackside show and there are plenty of kids activities from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. at the Kids Club Corner.

They kids can meet Buckles the Keeneland mascot and have the opportunity to participate in free activities and crafts. They also have a chance to join in the "Hoofin It" dance with Buckles.

Don't miss out on the new track tours offered after breakfast. You can also take in the paddock demonstrations, have photos taken with Bucky the bugler, attend a handicapping seminar or join in the Q & A with the jockeys in the walking ring.

Visitors can find plenty to do at this beautiful facility. In fact...beauty is part of the experience...the view from the stands is something to take in. Sit back, relax, watch the horses and enjoy the view. It is fun, even if your horse doesn't win the race~!
