  • Eunice Hunstad, age 93 of Odin, was called to her eternal rest on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Society - Pleasant View in St. James. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in rural Odin with Pastor Carla Reierson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2013 at the Kramer Family Funeral Home in Trimont and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.     Eunice Alvina Hunstad was born on September 7, 1919 to Emil and Matilda (Hanson) Hunstad in Odin Township. She received her education in District 24 Country School and graduated from Butterfield High School in 1938. Following graduation she stayed at home to care for her mother who was ill and help out babysitting nieces and nephews when new children were added to the family. She was united in marriage to Erwin Hansen on October 1, 1946 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church and they lived on the M.T. Laingen farm south of Butterfield until moving into Odin in 1976. She loved living in Odin and enjoyed coffee in the Odin Store with her friends as many mornings as she could go and attending other community gatherings. She entered into Pleasant View on March 20, 2013. Eunice was a lifelong member of St. Olaf Church ad was active having taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, WELCA officer, baker/cook, entertained family, always loved children, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was noted for her yummy Kringla, banana cream pie and Rommegrot and for being able to "rock-a-bye" any baby to sleep. (baby whisperer) Her bird feeder was kept full most of the time and she especially enjoyed watching and feeding them. A Sunday afternoon picnic at the lot on Long Lake was a summer highlight.
    Eunice is survived by daughter and son-in-law Gayle and Allen Flohrs of rural Ormsby; grandsons, Tory and Delcy Flohrs, Sofia and Hugo, Tyler and Emily Flohrs, Bennett, Ella and Hudson Flohrs all of St. James; sister, Irene (Hunstad) Sandbo of St. James; sister-in-law June (Larson) Hansen of St. James; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other realtives and friends.
    She is preceded in death by husband, Erwin on May 5, 2005; a stillborn son; sister, Myrtle (Hunstad) Syverson; brothers, Olaf Hunstad, ElvinHunstad and Arthur Hunstad; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Carl Syverson, Ida (Sandbo) Hunstad, Ragna (Folkadahl) Hunstad, Clara (Hovdet) Hunstad, John Sandbo, Helma Fossum, Cora Hansen, Aldora and Art McNeal, Lawren Hansen, Carl and Ella (Teigen) Hansen, Leona (Hansen) and Carl Sandbo, Selvin and Signe Hansen and other relatives.
