CSI's season finale is going to rock. Literally. Ozzy Osbourne's band Black Sabbath will perform a new song on the CBS procedural.
In the episode, airing Wednesday, May 15 at 10/9c, the CSI team's investigation of a trail of murders will lead D.B. Russell (Ted Danson) and Conrad Ecklie (Marc Vann) to attend a Black Sabbath show, where they will share a scene with the band. The rare TV appearance by lead singer Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Burtler comes less than a month before the release of their new album 13 - their first studio album together since 1978's Never Say Die!
"When we first heard that Black Sabbath was interested in premiering a song on CSI from their first studio album in 35 years, we were all really excited. So many of us are longtime fans," executive producer Don McGill said in a statement. "And seeing as the album is titled 13 and this is the finale of CSI's Season 13, it seemed like the perfect match. We couldn't be more thrilled."
Formed in 1969, Black Sabbath has sold more than 70 million albums worldwide and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.
