  • Madelia Community Hospital & Clinic (MCHC) Garden Committee is pleased to announce they are installing a Tranquility Garden for patients, families, staff and the public to enjoy.  On April 20th there will be a Legion Steak Fry and a Silent Auction at the VFW to raise money for this project. Consider attending this event for an evening with good friends, good food, and to support a great cause. The fun starts at 5:00 and continues until 7:30. You can also endorse this worthy cause by making a donation or donating an item for the Silent Auction.
The garden committee has been anxiously waiting for spring so they can get started on the new Tranquility Garden that will be located across the street from MCHC. The garden will be a serene and peaceful place that will offer a unique venue for family interaction in a calm, natural setting. The Eagles of St. James have already donated a handicap assessable picnic table and a park bench. The MCHC Garden Committee continues to raise funds so that a sidewalk, plants and flowers can be added to the garden this summer.  The committee is made up entirely of volunteers and 100% of all donations go directly towards the garden.
Committee members will also be selling commemorative pavers to the public to honor loved ones or friends. The pavers are a way to memorialize those who have gone before us, celebrate those who have made an impact, and remember loved ones and friends. The commemorative pavers are for sale to the public at a cost of only $75.
The committee would like to thank the community for their continued support.  The Tranquility Garden will be a park-like setting for the community to enjoy for years to come. If you have any questions about the project, please contact a member of the Garden Committee;  Shellee Daley, Ruth Frederickson, Janet Dysthe, Valerie Juhl, Beth Lassas, Stacie Cook, Connie Rollings, Carolyn Schultz, Mike Storlien and Cassie Woodward.  If you would like to make a donation or have questions you can also call the Madelia Community Hospital Foundation office at 507.642.5224.
