Lorranine Thulien, age 90 of St. James, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System - St. James. Funeral services will be Monday, April 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in St. James with burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, April 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James and will continue for one hour prior to services at the church.

Lorraine Mary Thulien was born June 22, 1922 in St. James, to William and Rosa (Miest) O'Brien. She graduated from St. James High School
in 1941 and was united in marriage to A. Charles Thulien on September 24, 1950 at St. Paul's Parsonage. Lorraine worked at the Herbin Holte grocery store from 1943 to 1950. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School, served on the Altar Guild, and helped with the newsletter. Lorraine enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by sons, Bill (Gloria) Thulien and Jim (Karen) Thulien all of St. James; grandchildren, Joseph Thulien of St. James, Tessa Thulien of Peoria, Ill., and Josie Thulien of Madelia; step-grandchildren, Chastity Nelson of St. James, Brandon Kathman of Rochester and Kristina Kathman of St. James; step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband A. Charles Thulien on July 22, 2000; and brother William O'Brien, Jr.
