St. James senior Michaela Nelson has signed a national letter of intent to play tennis with Southwest Minnesota State University at Marshall.
Last year Michaela played doubles for the Saints girls tennis team that went to the State Tournament.
According to the Saints tennis coach Les Zellmann, “At college she will need to play singles and doubles. Typically three doubles positions are played and then the six singles points are played. Many of the players will be playing both singles and doubles at the college level.
“Michaela was a fine player for us during her career. She was very diligent to work on improving her game and she always provided a lot of positive energy to the team environment.”
Michaela was a three year letter winner for the Saints.
