  • A volunteer appreciation tea was held to honor all those volunteers who donate their time to help residents at Pleasant View, Brandt Ridge and Prairie View.
The spring appreciation tea is an annual event, but was postponed last week after the area was hit with a snow storm. Still, many volunteers were able to make the meeting on Monday, April 29, at Pleasant View in St. James.
Among the honorees were the five years of service pin winners. These individuals were honored with a pin to commemorate their five years of service at Pleasant View, Brandt Ridge and Prairie View. The five year service members recognized were Harlan Yates, Joan Engstrom, Gerry Engstrom, Vera Lentsch, Don Fastenau and Clarice Fastenau.
Gaining her ten years of service pin was Judy Menson – indicating that she has been a volunteer for the past ten years at Good Samaritan in St. James.
Poems were read by residents of Pleasant View before the 30 and 35 years of service gifts were given. Elaine Jorgenson received an imprinted light-blue bible for giving 30 years of service to the organization, while Jean Bruton received a special clock for her 35 years of service.
