The Butterfield Memorial Program will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, May 27 at the Butterfield-Odin Public School Gymnasium.
The program will begin following ceremonies at local cemeteries which will take place from 6:45 until 9:15 a.m Monday morning.
Pre-program ceremonies consist of Memorial Day flag setters, who will place more than 300 flags on Veterans’ and Sisters’ graves in local communities. Flags are placed to honor fallen comrades.
Featured speaker for the event is Lt. Col. Brad Ommodt. Music will be provided by the Butterfield-Odin High School Band and Choir.
Officer of the day is Bob Harden, the invocation will be done by Pastor Jim Sprague, Margret Lager will recite the pledge of allegiance along with a welcome speech. Following Ommodt’s speech a benediction prayer will be recited by Pastor Sprague before Donald Larson of the VFW give the salute to departed comrades.
Cookies, coffee and punch will be served following the program by the Donald Larson VFW auxiliary. All public are invited to attend.
