  • Walking through the first thing I notice are the literature holders by the community room. Flyers, cards, and posters remind a person of upcoming scheduled events. Instead of being recycled, dated magazines and used books are offered for the taking.
If you asked my mom, she would say the greatest benefit of having a library card is having access to books. Besides the latest book releases, a visitor to the library has access to magazines, DVDs, paintings, and a plethora of archived information. I have benefited from the library in using sources for school research papers. No matter your age or your scope of interest, chances are you can learn more about it at the library.
Children who visit the library are exposed to organized educational opportunities such as story time, craft time, or drama events. As a three-year-old, I thought everything in the library could be checked out, including stuffed animals. Sue Kuyper used to let me take Winnie the Pooh home on a regular basis after story time.
Our library is an integral part of our community because it provides us with opportunities for learing and fun. I have seen Miss Rolshoven using the library as a meeting place to hold individual home-bound tutoring sessions, and through the library, Mom and Dad got to tour King Tut exhibit at the Science Museum.
