  • An ‘all school reunion’ of St. James graduating classes is going to be held next week. It’s believed that holding a reunion at the same time as Railroad Days will attract more alumni from all of the years of St. James High School.
The event will run over two days - June 21 and 22.
Pam Runge of the District 840 Foundation has been coordinating much of the reunion efforts.
Mailings and e-mailing to alumni have generated hundreds of early registrants. Pam said the number of in town people registering compared to out of town people was about 50-50.
If people haven’t done an early registration, they can register next week beginning Thursday, June 20 at the Amrstrong Media Center between 8 am and 4 pm. Registration will continue on Friday same time, same place.

There’s an all school reunion button available for $10. The button will have a window for a person’s name and the year they graduated.
The button will come with a list of discounts from merchants in town. If a St. James graduate doesn’t buy a button they can sign in on tag board at various establishments to let people know who is in town. Sign up boards for classes through the 1960s will be at the American Legion.                 The VFW will have sign up boards for alumni from the 70’s and 80’s. The Eagles will have sign up boards from the 90’s and up. These sign up boards will go up Wednesday night of next week. It’s the old fashioned way of doing social media.
There will be an all school reunion program that’s going to be held after the Railroad Days parade. It’s going to be at the First Lutheran Church Social Hall and will be a time for socializing and reminiscing for all alumni. It’s scheduled to run untill 10:30 pm.
Several classes have taken the initiative to have their own reunions during this time. Those include the classes of 1949, 55, 58, 59, 63, 78, 83, 93, 03. Check the St. James Public School website and click on the District 840 Foundation ‘bug’ to get the exact time and place for each class    reunion.
Pam suggested that other classes post signs of the year they graduated during the parade  to meet up with classmates from that year.
Many activities are planned as part of the all school reunion event. They may be in conjunction with Railroad Days, but at the same time they are focused on St. James alumni participation.
