    Essig 9, A’s 6
Despite a spirited eighth inning rally that scored five runs, the A’s lost to Essig at home on Friday 9-6.  The A’s had trouble getting anything going against BlueJays starter Colton Petron collecting only two hits over the first seven innings.              Starter Joe Hager (0-2) took the loss, while Dusty Pfeiffer and Brandon Menssen also saw action on the mound.
After collecting only two hits over the first seven innings, the A’s offense got rolling in the bottom of the eight, scoring five runs capped off by a bases loaded double from Matt Dahl.  The A’s were retired in order in the ninth as the comeback fell short.
