  • Rebecca Romsdahl, St. James High School class of 1991, has received a prestigious Fulbright Scholar Award to conduct research in the United Kingdom of Great Britain.
The title of her Fulbright research project is "Comparing Adaptation Planning for Climate Change at Local Government Levels in the United Kingdom and United States".
Beginning in September, Romsdahl will be hosted at Lancaster University in Lancashire, England for her six month stay. She will travel across the UK interviewing local government officials to assess how communities are planning to deal with changing climate conditions; including what challenges they face in developing and funding innovative policies for such issues as protection against increased flooding and promoting renewable energy strategies.
Romsdahl is an associate professor at the University of North Dakota in the Department of Earth System Science & Policy where she teaches courses on sustainability, environmental policy and communication.
