  • Saints Girls Basketball Head Coach Adam Schroeder conducted a basketball camp over several days last week.
        A total of 18 girls participated in the 5th through 8th and 9th through 12th divisions.
        It included many of the returning varsity players. In the 9-12 grade division, Allison Brandts won the hot shot award with 207 points. Emily Bottem won the free throw contest hitting 72 of 100. Julia Beckius won the one on one competition.
        The winning team in the three on three competition included Allison, Madi Carlson and Amelia Collier.
        The 5-8 grade camp winners included Brooklyn Mickelson who won the hot shots competition with 129 points. Jalyn Woratschka won the free throw competition and Brooklyn was the one on one champ.     
     
    A shooting camp was held on Friday.     It was conducted by Kelli Terrell, who is the head coach of the North Iowa Area Community College.
        Coach Terrell said the girls were picking up the techniques she was teaching. However, Terrell said that, “If you want to be a great shooter, you need to devote one to two hours a day in the gym.”
    Other girls attending the camp were Morgan Sandmeyer, Kaleigh Evans, Bailey Trickel, Ashely Frederickson, Liz Reckow, Maddie Foss, Alejandra Trapero, Chloe Mickelson, Zoie Becker, Ellie Becker and Kayla Hanson.
