Salutators met with new Anytime Fitness owners Dan Kern and Mike Tonsager to give them a congratulatory plaque for their recent purchase of the Anytime Fitness business in downtown St. James.
Both Kern and Tonsager are personal trainers at the St. James Area Rehabilitation Center.
They have big plans for the Anytime Fitness building and have enjoyed working with the Anytime Fitness Manager Beth Henderson.
Kern and Tonsager are planning to rearrange and renew the downstairs level of the current building, along with updating the upstairs of the area.
These fresh new owners want the building to get a face-lift and start fresh as well. Tonsager said that just because the building is in St. James, doesn't mean it shouldn't be held to the same standards as Anytime Fitness buildings in Mankato or Minneapolis. He said the St. James residents deserve to have a building that is comfortable and offers the same qualities as those buildings in larger cities.
The new owners are hoping to add space in the upper level of the building sometime in the next couple of months. The upstairs will be used for group fitness activities such as the Anytime Fitness Boot Camp or spin classes.
Kern and Tonsager would also like to update the sign at the front of the building.
The sign is wired to light up, but hasn't been used as a light-up sign for some time.
Pending corporate approval, these changes should begin to come to fruition sometime in the next few months.
