The Eleventh Annual Summer Sizzler celebration in Butterfield will take place Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6.
Throughout the day Saturday there will be different entertainers and events taking place, including Critical Mass performing at Buckshots and Phil Baker on stage Saturday afternoon.
Food will be provided throughout the weekend in different forms by a number of the community organizations in Butterfield.
Popular events taking place on Friday include cow pie bingo at 5:30 p.m. and blind man golf cart races at 6 p.m.
Blind man golf cart races consist of two individuals on a golf cart racing around a track. To complicate the race, the driver of the cart is blindfolded and can only steer the race by following his/her companion's voice.
The fun kicks off Saturday, July 6 at 7 a.m. with a breakfast by the Lions Club. Following breakfast, registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. for the Butterfield Chicken Run.
The Chicken run is a 5K race that takes place in Butterfield. Prior to the 5K, participants can choose to partake in a two mile fitness walk or watch as the children compete in the half mile kid's fun run.
The Taste of Butterfield event is scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. During the Taste of Butterfield, local restaurants will be providing food in a buffet-type style.
At 2 p.m. the lawn mower races will begin. See individuals in different categories compete against one another for the top prize in modified lawn mowers.
There will a kids peddle pull at 11:30 a.m. and a tractor pull taking place at 3:30 p.m.
The Butterfield Summer Sizzler ends with a bang Saturday night in the form of fireworks over the lake. The fireworks are sponsored by Triumph State Bank and the Butterfield Summer Sizzler.
