The American Red Cross blood mobile made its way into town July 8 and July 9 in two very successful days of blood donations.
Their Monday goal was to have 75 donations throughout the day. They had 88 donations. Tuesday they were expecting about 32 donations and ended the day with 45.
Coordinator for the blood drive, Diane Dannen said a major part of the increase in numbers was in part to the wonderful volunteers who did more calling for reservations than they have recently.
They received a few first time donors and many return donors. Blood supplies are at an all-time low, so the need for blood is at an all-time high.
The next blood drive will be held Sept. 12 and 13 in St. James.
