  • Geiger named Commander of MN State Patrol South Central

  • Lt. Jeremy Geiger has been selected as Commander of the MN State Patrol District that serves the south central portion of the state, based in Mankato.
    Lt. Geiger's promotion to Captain will take place on July 23, 2013, at the Department of Public Safety Communication Division Media Room, in Town Square, downtown St. Paul.
    Geiger began his career with the Minnesota State Patrol in 1998. Since that time, Geiger has served as a road trooper, Academy Staff Officer, Federal Grants Coordinator, Field Training Officer, Background Investigator, Director of the MSP Honor Guard Team, Platoon Leader with the Chemical Agent Response Team and most recently as Field Lieutenant in District 2200.
    Prior to joining the Minnesota State Patrol, Geiger served with the United States Marine Corps, working as a Military Police Officer assigned to the Presidential Helicopter Squadron in Quantico.
    Geiger graduated from St. James High School, holds an Associate of Applied Science Degree from Alexandria Technical College along with a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts Degree from Concordia University, St. Paul.
    Lt. Geiger will be replacing Captain Lori Hodapp who has accepted a new assignment as Commander and Director of State Patrol Training and Development in the Twin Cities. Her duties will include the recruitment, hiring and academy training of new troopers and development of incumbent employees and she will have oversight of the Crash Reconstruction and Drug Recognition Coordinators.
    Captain Hodapp has been with the State Patrol for 29 years serving as Commander in Mankato for the last 10 years. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of assignments, including road patrol, Safety Education Officer and as a Field and Training Lieutenant.
