The St. James Bloc Party is scheduled for today, Aug. 1 at the north end of Memorial Park.
The Bloc Party has taken place annually in St. James. It offers the opportunity for the community to come together and meet new one another with events all evening beginning at 5:30 p.m., with something for everyone and a fun time for all.
Free food is served by the St. James Fire Department beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Food served will be hamburgers and chicken sandwiches. The fire department will also have a model house burn where firefighters demonstrate how they enter a home and put out the flames during a house fire. Children can see all of the fire trucks and meet many of the St. James community firefighters.
Headlining the event is Undercover, who will hit the stage at 6 p.m. Undercover is an area band that performs old style rock and roll at many community events.
For the children, games will be provided along with a bouncy house and balloons coming from PJ's Magic – who will be performing and entertaining all night.
The Mayo One medical helicopter will be doing a landing in the park and the St. James ambulance will also be on hand. Members of the community are invited to meet with members of the ambulance crew. Some members of the police department will also be at the Bloc Party and available for conversations.
There will be pets for children of all ages to enjoy, provided by the Watonwan County Humane Society – who will be available to answer any questions about adopting.
If residents get thirsty throughout the evening, a beverage stand will be available run by "Let's Go Fishing" who will be serving water, soda and Gatorade.
Don't miss out on one of the last events of the summer – the 2013 St. James Bloc Party in Memorial Park.
